This week we celebrate America. Many communities host parades, fireworks, entertainment in the parks, and families taking time to be together. Many times this celebration also includes alcohol. Sadly, impaired driving is the most often committed and the deadliest of crimes. And the most preventable with clear and responsible choices. Each hour, across our nation, someone dies in an alcohol related crash on the highway. Several thousands of people are victims of these crashes annually. Sometimes the victim is an innocent participant. As we begin our holiday travels, using our good judgement will be paramount. If you are going to be drinking, then by all means, have a designated driver. Plan now to prevent a tragedy in your life or the life of someone else. This simple decision can be one of the most important ones you’ll make this holiday weekend. So celebrate America and all her glory safely.
