Choosing your Destination
Greetings from sunny Florida. I am in Ft. Lauderdale attending a Make Mine A Million Leadership Institute event. And what an event it has been. Being together with several hundred women entrepreneurs is not only exhilarating, but simply jaw dropping in learning what they have achieved and where they plan to go. Amazing. From nursery growers, personal coaches, technology experts to clinical trial specialists, advertising and financial experts and clothing designers. You name it, make the M3 group has something for everyone. Women business owners move the nation. The focus of M3 is to move 1 MILLION women to 1MILLION dollars in revenue by the year 2010. How will be do it? January 2009 opens the RACE to the MILLION. Call me directly (907) 247-1431 to get information – ALL women owned businesses are eligible to join. We want you to be part of our team! I guarantee that becoming a part of the M3 Race will change your life. Call me about this opportunity at 907.247.1431. But I digress. During this amazing event, I gained several tools to help me grow TSS, Inc to yet another level. I also met other business owners that I can partner with for growth. Did you know that the government is expecting to spend 13 TRILLION dollars in 2009? The various ways they’ll do that opens many doors for you to position your company. Gives me goosebumps! The Women Impacting Public Policy presented at the M3 event, giving us great information and insight into government contracting. With new rules in regard to set aside for small and woman owned businesses, you can expect to see women taking charge of changing this economy. And perhaps the most exciting news, Nell Merlino, the President of Make Mine A Million, has been invited to work with the Obama transition team. They start meeting on Friday, December 12 in Washington, DC.. I am so proud to be part of a group that will help shape our future.
Being at the M3 event allowed some reflection time for the organizational flow of TSS. We talk about where we are going, but we don’t put it on paper very well. M3 gave us some useful tools in making that happen in a meaningful way (and less painful way too!). The TSS staff reads a lot of books that help us shape our goals and now we can put them on paper to review on a regular basis and a road map to guide us through this journey to success. One book we all really liked was The No Complaining Rule, but J on Gordon. You can find it at http://www.NoComplainingRule.com This book about being part of the solution instead of the problem is written in fun story form (quick read), but leaves you with some great ideas on how to solve problems instead of letting them run you down. Of course, we all loved Gordon’s The Energy Bus, and the No Complaining Rule delivered again. Go check it out – it really is worth your time.
